The protagonist of this painting is a beautiful leopard. He looks straight at the viewer with his green eyes. Probably, before he realized he was being watched, he was playing with the stick that is now under his paw. In the background the fantastic sunset of Tenerife, the sky with its shades of red that are reflected in the leopard's coat.
