With my series of works "Shells" - "Pearls", I consider several aspects at once. The first task that I set myself is the revival of love for female nature. In our age, the line between a man and a woman is being washed away by fashion, behavior, ideals of beauty of the face and body. I'm not saying it's bad, but I want to show that "it" is not the only possible existence. Girls are beautiful! Their warm soft forms, their enveloping nature, their natural nature, which does not have to be squeezed into the framework of "oversize". I want both men and women to see the beauty in a woman's nature.
Also now in my work I am interested in the disclosure of the concept of "Soul.Bodies.Reason." Where is the beginning of one phenomenon and the end of another? How to depict these movements? I am looking for ways to convey to people my thoughts about these three phenomena by comparing them with things we understand - a pearl shell. Is the soul a pearl? And the mind is the softness of the shell? Or is the mind a pearl? "Who is Who?" – the viewer decides for himself. I set myself the task of speaking in the language of art not about emotions - rude and vivid experiences, but about feelings that are not so loud, but they are one of the highest manifestations of the human spirit and mind. The feeling differs from the emotional impulses of the soul in complexity, and I convey this subtle multicoloration of the states of the inner world of a person with the mother-of-pearl shell. I consider the phenomenon of shells and pearls to be unique. The way something foreign gets inside a closed world, over time, becomes part of it, and how at the same time the softness of the shell plays with this guest-grain of sand, enveloping it with itself and making it a part of itself – this process is akin to human relationships. And akin to the concepts of "Soul.Body.The mind.”

Биография
My name is Margarita Simonova. I am an academic artist-sculptor. My creative direction is balanced between academic realism and impressionism. To be devoted to nature and at the same time capture a fleeting mood.
2015-2019 MGAKHU Academic College in memory of 1905 with honors and praise at the Faculty of Sculpture, where they laid all the foundations of painting. Since 2019 at the Academic University of MGAKHI Surikov, Faculty of Sculpture.
Due to my education, I am an academic sculptor, but I am equally proficient in sculpture and drawing, as well as academic painting, which is not typical for a professional sculptor. Being at the junction of two academic artistic directions and owning each of them, I see the world around me differently.
Thanks to my academic education, I work from nature: whether it's running clouds in the North of Russia, cute pets, urban landscapes, rains or sunsets. I go with paints and sketchbook to the North, to the virgin corners of Russia, I catch the character of a friendly and very playful dog, I go to another country, and everywhere I write or sculpt my impression of what I saw. I always rely in my work on a living, genuine perception when there is no "glass" between me and the world, when I can feel the depicted moment of life not only with my eyes and hands, but also with my whole body, with my whole mind and soul. I paint large paintings and sculptures from my "live" sketches.

I am taking part with three works from my new series of paintings "Shells" in the permanent exhibition of the project "Creative Space of Art and Fashion", which is filled with a lively and pulsating atmosphere of contemporary art and is located in the very center of Moscow, on Bolshaya Tatarskaya Street, in the unique business cluster "BT35". You will see the works of more than 30 masters. The exposition is updated every month.Inaddition to the colorful opening day, guests can expect busy weekdays. Master classes, presentations by artists and creative evenings will be held every week.

This piece caught my eye and I see exceptional skill and vision in this drawing and a well-developed realization of that vision and a balance between the reality of a decorative object and ideal of an invitation into belief in the concept being presented. I found a still emerging, yet already potent vision in Simonova's work. There are already many drawings of hers that I'd be happy to have hanging on my walls exerting their influence in my life, and Simonova is still very young. I'm excited to see what develops in the future and have selected her as an artist to follow.
Many thanks to Edwin Loftus for the feedback and such a high assessment of my work. I continue to develop this series of works, and since I am an artist-sculptor by education, I embody ideas in volume. Based on the drawings in this series, I made several wall reliefs and table sculptures from cast porcelain. And I'm also interested in the use of lighting - as a game of imagination - and some varieties of bone china made it possible to carry out my plans. New works in my gallery She'll.
