MANUEL SANTIAGO is a contemporary Spanish artist renowned for his abstract and avant-garde paintings. Born in 1956, Santiago's work often explores themes of chaos, destruction, and transformation, characterized by bold brushstrokes, vibrant colors and intricate compositions, creating a sense of movement and energy.

Santiago works with various mediums, including oils, mixed media, charcoal, and acrylics, and his art has been represented by prestigious auction houses like Bonhams in Los Angeles and New York. His unique style and use of symbolism have garnered praise from critics and collectors worldwide.

Some of his notable works include "Invasion" (2024), "Apocalypse" (2021), "Sombras" (2005), "Electromagnetic Pulse" (2019), "Congress of Darkness" (2021) and "Controlled Demolition FP" (2022). Santiago's creative philosophy emphasizes introspection, believing that "creativity must look inward" and that "the ultimate reality is the spiritual". This approach allows him to create deeply personal yet universally impactful art.

Manuel Santiago was born in Malaga, Spain. He has crossed the globe many times and as a traveling artist he has absorbed patterns of life and cultures in the true sense. This has influenced his work so that we see flashes of different cultural aspects threaded through his canvases.

Subject matters and themes invoked in the early eighties have evolved to present strong, vibrant canvases- surrealism and the abstractions, with intense movement. He selects and uses to good effect the spatial impressions in the linear paintings of 2001 - the Universe series, the world beyond. There's a strong visual power in his works, serenity but also strength and purity.

Santiago is currently based in Brisbane, Australia, where he continues to create powerful pieces that attract commissions from private and international collections; reflecting his ability to evoke profound emotions, challenge perceptions and provoke thought through his art.

Whether contemplating the cosmos or celebrating the beauty of our world, Manuel Santiago's art invites us to embark on a visual journey--one where vibrant colors and intricate forms intersect with the spiritual essence of creativity.
