STATEMENT:
Ever since the early 1990’s, my home country Yugoslavia had been experiencing a growing turmoil. The subsequent war years greatly influenced my work and my life. Supporting me, using my artistic painting skills honed after graduating from the ‘Fine Arts Academy’ in 2004 gaining a Major in Painting, proved more and more difficult. Moving overseas broadened my horizons and opportunities.I first moved to Bahrain in the Middle East, where I built my reputation and successfully sold artworks to Bahraini and European clients. I subsequently moved to Abu Dhabi, UAE during 2006. The Middle East culture began to influence my painting during this period and since then I have developed through my painting, an expressive style, reflective of these many influences. My passion for nature and the ‘Burdock flower’ symbolizes the strengths I used to override the brutality of war...
