"Thinking fast”
Once I was asked where the subjects for my artwork come from. In different ways... In this particular case, three themes were connected: one from a book, another on a film, and a third on personal experience.
It all started a couple of years ago, after reading Daniel Kahneman's book "Thinking, Fast and Slow", which stuck into my head. The main idea of the book is that people, in most cases, make impulsive decisions that are not always accurate. In some cases, this can save our lives, but in others, we draw biases conclusions.
A little later I saw the film "Concussion" (2015 film), which is not related to the subject of the book, but which somehow influenced my train of thought. I've never seen a bullfight. And to some extent I agree with its prohibition. I think that there was a significant difference from that bullfighting, which was once a sacred act, and what happened on the field in our time. And it's good that this senseless slaughter of animals was stopped. But then I have a question: we have become humane to bulls, but are we humane enough to football players? Indeed, in practice, a person who receives a blow to the head with a ball experiences an injury, which over the years develops into a severe form of the disease. Just thinking…
All together merged into one image, where a football player with a luxurious cabbage instead of a head strikes a head flying and screaming with horror. All this takes place on a golf course, with a large number of holes, which gives a certain absurdity to the situation. Two rabbits on the sidelines, near the hole with the flag, are watching with interest what is happening.

Меня как-то спросили от куда берутся сюжеты для моих работ. По-разному… В данном конкретном случае соединились три темы: одна по прочтению книги, другая – по фильму и третья из личного опыта.
Все началось пару лет назад, после прочтения книги Daniel Kahneman “Thinking, Fast and Slow”, которая крепко запала мне в голову. Главная идея книги в том, что люди в большинстве случаев, принимают импульсивные решения, которые не всегда бывают точными. В каких-то случаях это спасает нам жизнь, а в каких-то – мы делаем ошибочные выводы.
Чуть позже я посмотрела фильм Concussion (2015 film), который не связан по тематике с книгой, но который каким-то образом повлиял на ход моих мыслей. Я никогда не видела корриду. И в какой-то степени согласна, с ее запретом. Думаю, что от той корриды, что когда-то была священным действом, и тем, что происходило на поле в наше время – была существенная разница. И хорошо, что эту бессмысленную бойню животных остановили. Но тогда у меня возникает вопрос: мы стали гуманны к быкам, но достаточно ли мы гуманны к игрокам футбола? Ведь, на практике человек, получающий удар мячом по голове испытывает травму, которая с годами перерастает в тяжелую форму болезни. Just thinking…
Все вместе слилось в один образ, где футболист с роскошной капустой вместо головы с разбегу бьёт по летящей и кричащей от ужаса голове. Все это происходит на поле для гольфа, с большим количеством лунок, что придает некую абсурдность ситуации. Два кролика в сторонке, возле лунки с флажком, с интересом наблюдают за происходящим.
