Yitao Liu is a Member of Chinese Artists Association, a professional artist of KIB the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and active on the Committees of many art organizations including the Yunnan Chinese Artist Association.
INDIVIDUAL ART EXHIBITION:
19 solo art exhibitions held in various countries such as, China, Hong Kong, Australia, Thailand, England, USA and Malaysia. Of them, 14 solo held at overseas.
AWARDS & HONOURS:
* 79-89 one of the most Distinguished Artists in China by Chinese Artists Association.
* 1984- Awarded prize for excellent work in the 6th Exhibition at National Art in Beijing.
* 1988- Awarded prize for excellent work in the Zhonghua Cup Competition in Beijing. Prize of the Golden Fork in the First Exhibition of the Modern Elaborate Style in Beijing.
* 1989- Awarded Bronze Medal in the 7th Exhibition of National Art in Beijing.
* 1990- Awarded Third Prize in the What Beautiful China, Love My China, Exhibition of National popular Science Art in 1990.
*1997- Awarded the Medal of One of the most Distinguished 100 Artists in China, by Chinese Literary and Art Association.
*1998- Awarded a Prize for excellent work, by The World Cultural and Arts Research Centre, in Hong Kong.
*1999- Awarded a Prize for Especial Gold Prize, by The World Cultural and Arts Research Centre, in Hong Kong.
*1999- warded a prize of The Gold Prize in the Organization Committee of The Fifth International Calligraphy and painting Works Exhibition in Beijing.
刘怡涛：中国画坛97百杰画家，中国美协会员，云南美协常务理事，其作品对花鸟及自然生境的形神有很透彻的见解，工整中溢浪漫情怀，花鸟中融山水灵秀，色调清高淡雅或强烈明快，极富诗情画意，使得传统的花鸟画别开天地。
曾走过的路：
95年其个展作为中英文化交流，在英国由大使及市长主持开幕，作品深受英伦欢迎。至今已在该国举办个展达6次之多。
个人画展19次：自91年先后于北京、昆明、香港、澳大利亚、泰国、英国、马来西亚、美国等地。
曾得到的荣誉：
*被中国美协评入79至89年“当代中国画”百人画家集
*被中国文联授予97中国画坛百杰画家称号
*荣获中国最具权威的全国美展第六届优秀作品奖、第七届铜牌奖
*荣获中国美协主办的：97年中国画坛百杰奖、88年中华杯中国画大奖赛佳作奖、中国当代工笔画首届大展金钗奖、90年全国科普美展三等奖
*荣获92年云南省政府文学艺术创作奖励基金二等奖；2006年云南文学艺术贡献奖
