What is in the eye of a sad clown? Have you ever noticed that those who make us laugh are deeply unhappy and feel miserable inside? I bet you have not, and that is not a surprise to me – people are mostly focused on what is on the outside and not on what others feel. Furthermore, we do not want to notice pain and sadness around us, mainly because we do not know how to cope with our own difficulties, not to mention other people’s problems.
Trying to protect ourselves from negative emotions, we have gone so far as to blame others for their weaknesses, which is why we are afraid of being judged and have to wear a mask of happiness. But the eyes speak louder than words, so try to be more attentive to others – that is the first little step everyone need to take to change the world we live in.
