Kühle Präzision trifft auf symbolische Überladung. Im Zentrum des Werks steht eine Gottesanbeterin – technisch sauber ausgearbeitet, in sattem Grün, fast klinisch klar. Sie ist nicht erhöht, sondern vorgeschoben; ihre Position vor einem goldenen, altarartigen Feld verleiht ihr dennoch ikonische Wirkung.

Über diesem goldenen Monument explodiert ein neonroter Splash – keine Geste, sondern Tat. Er wirkt wie das sichtbare Ergebnis einer Opferung: frisch, direkt, nicht zu übersehen.
Der subtile Witz des Titels „Ooops“ kippt jede dramatische Lesart ins Doppeldeutige.

Im Hintergrund: eine eiförmige, klar konturierte Form, flankiert von einer warmen, erdnahen Umrahmung. Das Ei – Symbol für Ursprung, Leben, Potenzial – wird hier nicht gefeiert, sondern still zurückgestellt. Stattdessen steht das Beendete im Vordergrund: die Konsequenz, nicht die Möglichkeit.

Formal arbeitet das Werk mit Elementen der Pop Art – klare Linien, plakative Farbflächen, dekorative Setzungen. Doch diese Formensprache täuscht. Was leicht wirkt, trägt das Gewicht archaischer Rollenverhältnisse, gespiegelt in einem Bild über weibliche Autonomie, instinktive Macht und eine stille Bereitschaft zur Konsequenz.

Cool precision meets symbolic weight. At the center of the work stands a praying mantis — technically exact, rendered in vivid green, almost clinically defined. She is not elevated, but positioned slightly forward; the golden, altar-like form behind her grants her a quiet iconic presence.

Above this monument, a neon-red splash bursts across the surface — not a gesture, but a result. It reads like the visible aftermath of a sacrifice: fresh, direct, impossible to ignore. The title, “Ooops,” twists the narrative with a dry, unsettling irony.

In the background, a clearly defined ovoid form appears, framed by warm, earthy tones that echo along the canvas edges. The egg — a classic symbol of origin, fertility, and potential — is present, but held at a distance. Here, it’s not the promise of life that dominates the scene, but the consequence of having given it. Or taken it.

Formally, the work borrows from the language of Pop Art — bold lines, flat color fields, aesthetic clarity. But that surface is deceptive. What looks playful carries the gravity of archetypal power structures, reimagined in a female figure who neither explains nor apologizes.
