Drawing and painting are not so much self expression as they are a way to interpret the world and translate it to physical art. Art is a calling and a beautiful way of life! In no other profession will you find more generous colleagues and mentors, willing to share their best secrets in hope of all of us becoming better artists. Drawing is something all children do freely and without hesitation. Ask a group of children "who here is an artist" and every hand will enthusiastically be raised. Ask the same group 20 years later and maybe one hand is in the air. What makes us hesitate? Part of art is teaching others that with a few skills, they can be on their way, on their journey back to the fearless kid who wants to draw all the time. And here I am. home again, with my box of crayons and pad of paper, filled with joy.
