Signed on the back.
Ocean Infinity, is an extra large scale acrylic on canvas painting. It is not stretched for ease of international travel, it has been discounted for you to have mounted in your country.
It has been done in Karen's very popular and unusual finish where it is painted and then etched back to create the look of a washed out boat wood finish, you know when you see old boats and they have that rustic weathered paint look about them.
Karen saw the beauty in those boats and wanted to recreate that look on canvas. The look has been very popular with collectors of her work.
Once the look has been achieved Karen than adds in detailed line and dot work to produce something very different and stunning to marvel at. The line work adds a level of intricacy and the dot decoration adds vibrancy and creates the real wow factor about this work.
Finally several coats of gloss varnish are added to protect the work, bring out all the colours, lines, dots and details within the work.
Karen Elzinga is a professionally trained artist completing a double degree in Fine art and Visual Culture. She only uses top grade professional standard canvas and acrylic paints.

What are the unique attributes of your art?
I think that the colours l use definitely add a statement to my work, l only use professional artist acrylic paints that have an opaque finish. Most people think l use oils paints because of the richness in my colour finish, but l paint each colour twice sometimes three times till l get the desired opaque finish. The intricacy l place in my work takes people on a journey of discovery with many stating they still find new bits and pieces within the work weeks after purchase.
I enjoy hiding things throughout the painting, people are amazed at how much l can cram into one painting. I enjoy extra large scale painting, l think if you have even one statement piece in your large room it is better than 3 small ones. A large original painting is an investment, so why not make one that no one can miss!
I started painting as a child and did art through school, but didn't go into formal art training until 2009 where l completed a double degree in Fine Art and Visual Culture. Since then l have worked as a professional artist selling my paintings to the USA, Britain and all over Australia.
