The work was created as a result of a historical study of the aborigines of Siberia. The traditional mythology of the Khanty-Mansi people tells about a real Snow Queen. This is the goddess Kaltasch, who could transform into a waterfowl. In this image, she dived to the bottom of the ocean and raised the earth to the surface. And so life began on earth.
The painting depicts the image of the Snow Queen, who is sad that the memory of her has not been preserved in the memory of descendants. Everyone knows the Snow Queen from Andersen's fairy tales. In his work, the Snow Queen lives in Lapland, has a European appearance and has an evil character. And the real Snow Queen, goddess Kaltasch, is very kind, she loved people and always served them.
In the painting, the Snow Queen is depicted in the Mona Lisa pose.

My name is Julia Dyachenko - Contemporary Abstract Artist, Eurasian Art Union Member
I come from one of the harshest region of Russia — Siberia where cold, snow and savage scenery create special living conditions. It was the beauty of local landscapes that has impressed me since my childhood and has inspired me to express my feelings through painting.
It is the abstract manner of painting that forms the space where each viewer will find his or her own meaning and open his or her understanding. Each piece is a world. The world of feelings, emotions, moods. My artworks reveal layers of memories, evoke a response deep inside in the most secret places of our being.
These pieces are beyond the recognizable forms so you can assign your own meaning to them. After all, the main thing is freedom — freedom of expression, freedom of understanding, freedom from form. This idea of freedom runs through all of my paintings.
