There are a few photographers with an individual eye and a discernably different sensibility and our current special mention winner, Jean-Marie Virat, is one. Avoiding the merely pretty, decorative, or merely formally perfect, Jean-Marie brings intelligence and humour to his choice of subjects and his way of shooting them. Both this photo and the other shot he published recently make a political or social comment while being both witty and elegant minimal urban photographs in their own right. Vive la différence !
