Designed out of the qualities, possibilities and characteristics of its material: BAMBOO. The frame is build by hand from pressed layers of flexible bamboo. The shape is formed by the bamboo’s natural bending curve. The layers of bamboo curve through each other and entwine, locking each other in place. Two different color-tones are used: natural and caramel bamboo. This “layer cake” enhances the curves ,flow and shape of the table. End result is a mix of nature and mathematics, of possible and impossible. A strong dynamic shape that looks different watched from different viewing points. A contemporary table design and a mid-century homage.
Bamboo:
A strong, highly sustainable ,flexible, beautiful and renewable material. Bamboo grows without the help of fertilizers. The bamboo tree is mature enough to be cut after three years. The trees are processed into the most environmentally sustainable wood on Earth.

Numerous experiments with materials and shapes resulted in a new form and material language “Flux”
Flexible steel tubes are shaped by hand ,and mounted onto a base structure.
Each item is handcrafted, making each object a unique piece.
The shape is created free-formed by hand and bound by the flexible characteristics and radius of the material.
The “Flux”-series consists of organic and dynamic objects that are inspired by nature.
The way that plants, trees, organisms and rivers meander, grow and flow.
Seemingly random and chaotic, but following destinate paths.

“Time is an illusion”
Most wall-clocks have the same basic shape: round. Also the same looking time-indication by
numbers or stripes.
“MOCAP” steps away from the basic. It’s appearance leans more to a piece of conceptual art,
then to a basic time-telling clock. Therefore it is also functioning as a wall mounted sculpture. When you stand in front of the clock: the numbers are clear and visible. When you walk around it: numbers slowly seem to dissolve, and appear to fall apart in little floating white spheres.
This optical illusion results in a striking and intriguing piece. Inspired by “MOTION CAPTURE”
technique used in the movie-industry.
Status: Unlimited edition , signed and numbered by maker.

Creator of objects, eye-candy, and conversation-pieces.
JAN PAUL’s work crosses over boundaries between design and art . Each new piece adds to, and is part of the story. Conceptual, autonomous, and experimental. No boxes, borders or demands.
“I want to create with no concessions and fully explore and crystallize the ideas I have. One idea turns into a clean sleek designed table , the other into a sculptural object without a specific function. Reoccurring themes and directions of thought are the beauty of multiplicity, the marvel hidden in everyday objects, reinterpretation of icons ,exploring the boundaries of new materials, creating the new from the existing.“
The collection consists of objects, furniture, lighting and functional art, made in small series, limited editions and one-of-a-kind’s.Organically growing and carefully directed. The small and exclusive collection is produced in the Netherlands. All work is directly for sale through the website and through selected dealers and galleries.
