Sylvie Beuzen est licenciée en lettres,diplomée d'études supérieures en arts plastiques et sciences de l'art de l'université de Paris (Sorbonne).
Un séjour de six ans en Italie, immédiatement après ses études,confirme et aiguise son goût et sa sensibilité artistique.
De nombreux voyages suivent, notamment en Amérique Latine où des formes et des couleurs originales ont continué à façonner un style. Ayant choisi ensuite les Etats Unis comme résidence, Sylvie Beuzen se prend alors de passion pour le trompe-l'oeil, profitant de réminiscences de ses séjours italiens . Elle en fait son métier entre 1982 et 1995 décorant, travaillant avec des décorateurs de prestige," embellissant ",comme on dit en Amérique, les intérieurs d'amateurs célèbres à Washington, New York, Palm Beach et autres.
De retour en France en 1996, elle décide alors de revenir à une peinture plus personnelle. Son inspiration s'anime aujourd'hui autour de demi-teintes dans l'esprit de Morandi et de Balthus, faisant ressortir une sensibilité originale et prenante comme l'illustrent les oeuvres présentées ici.
