The inspiration for the paintings and drawings of this collection came from taking notes of the subject's life story, their emotions and my response to the the whole process of getting to know them - a complete stranger to me at the beginning of the process and now someone to whom I feel a strong connection. The paintings and drawings were made out of the materials and pages of paper I collected in the surrounding of the 'model' - making the painting from art supplies from their childhood - chalks, coloured pencils and other materials. The works are painted on surfaces taken from his living environment; from printing paper to old maps to a paper from the wall calendar... The textural patterns of the paper is produced by taking prints from the inside and outside walls of his house, the bathroom, the trees and the ground of his yard.

Ivan Ivanovic (born 17 February 1982 in Sokobanja, Serbia) is a Serbian textile, costume and fashion designer. He attended Djordje Krstic High School / textile design department / in Nish (Serbia). He received his Master of Arts degree (M.A.) in Costume and Fashion Design at the Faculty of Applied Arts (Belgrade, Serbia) in 2009, class of professor Ingrid Huljev.
