The Wanderer III (2020) Disegno da Roque

Born 1988 in Sydney, Australia. Is from a multi-ethnic background of African American, German and Hungarian roots. Family migrated from Germany to Australia in the 80's and spent many years growing up in Sydney.

Was first self taught and later trained in the professional artist studio practice at age 17.
2006 began studying for bachelor of fine arts at the National Art School, Sydney, Australia, graduating in 2008 and majoring in Painting. Disciplinary focus is in drawing and oil painting.

First exhibition in 2010 at the Wollongong Regional Art Gallery for a survey exhibition of artists in the Illawarra.

Major focus of my art is exploring traditional techniques of painting and drawing, taking ideas from observation, visual memory, imagination and applying it to my creations.

Many of the artworks I make are influenced by genres from ancient world mythology, classical painting, drawing ideas from the Baroque and Renaissance era in Germany, Netherlands and Italy to create my personal visions.
