Denys Mollard è un artista francese contemporaneo. Dapprima ebanista, poi modellista, diventa interior designer e, appassionato di legno e materiali, inizia a immaginare una linea di lampade in legno per valorizzare gli interni.
La collezione di lampade in legno di Mollard utilizza forme semplici e geometriche, linee pulite e snelle per consentire al legno di assumere tutto il suo valore. Il legno nelle sue specie più svariate: teak, pino, quercia, faggio, noce, sipo, wengé, iroko, non viene utilizzato solo come supporto della forma, ma come materiale da costruzione.
Le sue creazioni sono più come sculture che semplici oggetti da posare. Per dare loro una ragion d'essere che va oltre la mera estetica e conferisce loro la caratteristica del design nel vero senso del termine, aggiunge luce, grazie a lampadine a LED che danno alle sue creazioni un'altra vita utile.
