Autodidacte, j’ai dessiné par périodes depuis l’enfance. Ce goût du dessin me vient de ma mère, qui dessinait aussi, comme ma grand-mère d’ailleurs. La présence des textes me vient de ce goût de la littérature que mon père m’a transmis depuis mon plus jeune âge.
Il m‘a fallu beaucoup de temps, et une profonde introspection pour être capable de vouloir exprimer mes émotions sur le papier et la toile.
Quand j’ai eu atteint mes 40 ans, j’ai souhaité apprendre les bases que je n’avais pas. Alors, humblement, j’ai suivi les cours de l’Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts. Puis, le temps qui me manquait a continué de s’écouler, jusqu’à ce que la vie m’impose, comme à chacun de nous, de vivre un temps où il n’était permis que de se retrouver face à soi-même.
C’était le moment que j’attendais, inconsciemment, pour cette plongée au fond de moi-même qui m’a permis de forcer les verrous que je ne voyais pas jusque là.
Mes peintures sont le reflet de ma vie, de mes espoirs, de mes souffrances aussi, mais surtout l’expression ce que je ne savais pas dire.
Si l’émotion partagée est ressentie, c’est que nous avons été touchés, à un moment de notre vie, par les mêmes sentiments.
