Michèle FROMENT est née en 1948 à Millau en Aveyron. Depuis 1979, elle vit sur la Côte d'Azur à Antibes et maintenant tous les étés à Oletta en Haute Corse. Très jeune, elle est attirée par la peinture et l'univers graphique.
C'est à partir de 1990 que Michèle se consacre plus particulièrement à l'AQUARELLE et à la technique du LAVIS. Elle s'appuie sur les Maîtres Anglais que sont Thomas GIRTIN et John Sell COTMAN dont la méthode impose le passage des couleurs transparentes et en superposition, un sens de l'ordonnancement et de la simplification. Elle est aussi sensible aux peintres plus abstraits de l'entre-deux guerres comme Franz MARC, August MACKE, Paul KLEE et Nicolas de STAEL. Ainsi, ses peintures sont empreintes de poésie et nous appellent au rêve.
Elle se reconnaît dans les peintres du groupe NABI (Paul SERUSIER, Maurice DENIS, Jan VERKADE). Elle apprécie les peintres expressionnistes tel Gustav KLIMT, ainsi que les peintres de l' « Ecole de Paris ».
La logique du travail qu'elle poursuit la prépare au dépouillement des formes et engendre un choix de couleurs particulières dans ses peintures. De plus, ses Emotions stimulent son inspiration et enrichissent son travail en des expressions multiples, tantôt proches du réel, tantôt proches de l'abstraction. C'est le plus souvent à partir de la NATURE qu'elle crée ses oeuvres.
Son goût pour la découverte de nouvelles idées et de nouvelles expériences est sans limite ; c'est pourquoi Michèle explore continuellement différentes techniques en peinture et gravure .
