Gisela Diez
geb. 1934 in Frankfurt-verstorben 1992 in Selestat in Frankreich.
Gisela Diez studierte von 1952 bis 1956 an der Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach bei Professor Hans Schminke Malerei und bei Professor Gottfried Diehl Bau- und Glasmalerei.
1956 heiratete sie den Künstlerkollegen Alexander Diez. Beide ließen sich in Ostheim/Nidderau bei Hanau nieder. Dort betrieb sie viele Jahre ein viel besuchtes Atelier.
Gisela Diez konzentrierte sich als Ausdrucksmittel vor allem auf japanische Ölkreide, die ihre inneren Farbbilder am ehesten widerspiegelten. Gisela Diez schwelgte in Farben, wobei bestimmte Töne zeitweise in den Vordergrund traten. Immer bestand zwischen dem künstlicherem Prozess mit seiner treibenden inneren Kraft und dem gefühltem Selbst eine starke Beziehung, die häufig zu symbolträchtigen Bildern voll konzentrierter Poesie führten.
Gisela Diez errang große Erfolge im Ausland, besonders in Italien und Frankreich. Einige Kirchen und Friedhofskapellen schmücken sich mit den Kirchenglasfenster von Gisela Diez, wie das Gemeindezentrum der Dreikönigsgemeinde in Frankfurt Sachsenhausen oder die herrlichen Glasfenster der Friedhofskapelle Ostheim Nidderau.
Nach ihrem Umzug nach Frankreich blieb sie vielen Menschen im Rhein-Main-Gebiet mit ihren Werken und ihrer Person verbunden.
Nach drei Jahren im Südelsass ließ Gisela Diez sich von ihrem Mann scheiden, da seine sexuellen Ausschweifungen für sie nicht mehr tragbar waren.
Für Gisela Diez begann eine künstlerische besonders fruchtbare, materiell aber schwere Zeit.
Ihre Sehnsucht, ihre innere Poesie und all ihre Hoffnung schlugen sich in ihren emotionalen Bildern nieder. Sie bekannte sich zur Kunst als Ausdruck ihrer inneren Welt, die trotz aller äußeren Schicksalsschläge kraftvoll, positiv und reich war. Ihr früher Tod im Jahre 1992 hat einem noch nicht ausgeschöpften Leben ein Ende gesetzt.
Nach ihrem frühen tragischen Tod hinterließ Gisela Diez ein bedeutendes und umfangreiches Werk.
