Sculpteur nommé Maître d’Art, Etienne Rayssac commence les Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux à 18 ans avant de travailler pendant plus de 10 ans pour l’Atelier Fancelli à Paris qui possède alors le monopole des Monuments Historiques. C’est dans cette aventure que cet homme passionné, aussi bien artiste qu’artisan, fait ses premières armes avant d’ouvrir son propre atelier en 1992 à Paris.
Depuis 40 ans, Etienne Rayssac collabore avec de grandes maisons telles que Cartier, Guerlain, Chanel, Balmain, Martin Margiela réalisant des bas-reliefs spectaculaires et des pièces uniques pour les boutiques et les défilés de mode. Tantôt classiques à partir du bois, tantôt plus contemporain avec des matériaux tels que la cire noire ou la mousse polystyrène. Labellisé Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant, son savoir-faire fait rayonner partout dans le monde la célèbre excellence à la française.
Etienne Rayssac ne s’arrête pas là œuvrant aujourd’hui dans un univers plus personnel où il peut suivre ses envies et une liberté d’expression artistique totale, il nous présente alors des créations plus intimes, la sculpture toujours comme moteur essentiel de son art.
Pièces animalières en bronze, sculptures taillées telles que « Vibrations » ou « Fusion » avec des jeux de plans, de stries pour capter la lumière, « L’écorché » en bronze poli avec un modelage éclaté plus instinctif… c’est une vie ardente cachée dans la matière qui anime ses œuvres, qui guide la main de l’artiste et commande la composition dans une liberté totale.
