L'ipnagogia (o stato ipnagogico), che pratica fin da bambino, informa il suo approccio artistico, così come le sue sperimentazioni letterarie e fotografiche. Tra sogno e stato di veglia si tratta di far emergere visioni, immagini tratte dai recessi della mente o da strani incontri con la natura.
Steve Drevet è nato nel 1974. Ha trascorso diversi anni nelle Indie occidentali dopo aver studiato antropologia e psicologia, dove è entrato in contatto con il voodoo dell'India occidentale, che ha avuto un profondo effetto sul suo universo. Il suo racconto fotografico L'île des chamans sarà esposto al Collège de France nel 2013. Numerose mostre private e museali (Musée Terrus, Musée du maître de Cabestany...) hanno caratterizzato il suo lavoro.
