I have studied Arts and Experimental Media at the Prague City University, Czech Republic. During the pandemic of 2020-2021 I attended the Stroganov University of Arts and Industry.
I suspect humanity has arrived at a crucial crossroad in its history - we can either continue to seamlessly merge with technology for the better or let the said technology get out of control and destroy us.
Personally, I took a step towards further unification with technology in order to enhance both my imagination and vision. Just as a brush and a pencil are tools - so is the hardware and the software, ergo ID as a brand is not just Igor Dunaev anymore - it is also partly the hardware sitting next to me. The computer is an extension of myself and without it I would be a mere painter with a canvas and little audience.
I believe art is a form of social documentation - we record the current trends, mindset and the spirit of our age for future generations. I am a historian and a chronicler; a 21st Century monk. I view the world as a human does - with my own vision and bias - but this might be even more important than staying objective as the world viewed though different prisms gives a better idea and context on a subject.
Apart from the abstract and landscape designs I make using AI, I also paint using oil and acrylic paints. A lot of my work is symbolic in nature and tries to put the audience into the story told via silhouettes and shapes. Other work I make records important sociopolitical, natural and cultural problems of our times. I also try to isolate emotions like sadness and anger in order to capture their singularity.
