In my "Oriental Aesthetics" series, I have meticulously renders awe-inspiring elements from China's millennia-old heritage: glazed floral tiles adorning ancient pagodas, lintels,cliff-carved tower inscriptions, and the weathered grandeur of ancient cypress trees.During my creation process, l retained the strong contrast treatment of acrylic materials while employing freehand brushstrokes to depict the subtle connections between all things.Additionally, l incorporated gold foil inlays and chinese-style negative space as decorative elements.I strive to fully exhibit their resilience, having endured the anti-Buddhist movements, wars,vandalism, as well as millennia of sun exposure and wind erosion:"unchanged by the shifts of day and night,unswayed by joys and sorrows. Standing firm against the battering of wind and rain.”

In my “Freehand Brushwork of Xiuding Fragments”series,I employed acrylic paints to depict the glazed floral bricks that densely adorn the surface of the Xiuding Temple Pagoda - renowned as China's first magnificent pagoda. For the painting process, considering the transparency of colors and decorative effect, I chose to creatived on a pre-stretched black-primed cotton canvas frames.To accentuate the divine grandeur of this “Tang Dynasty pagoda”dedicated to gods and immortals, I applied gold leaf to the four corners of the painting. I then blended metallic acrylic paint to create a decorative border that maintains the consistent style of this series.This artistic approach combines realistic observation to appreciate the beauty of Chinese ancient architecture with freehand brushstrokes that distill the essence of condensed historical legacy.

Hoho Kuo,female, who learned painting from her father, the artist Mr. Guo Yu, since childhood. She graduated from the Stage Design Department of the Central Academy of Drama and later from the Directing Department of the Beijing Film Academy.Now based in Shanghai. Active in the visual arts industry as an independent director, painter, and other multiple roles. She directed the advertising film "Lively City," which won the China International Advertising Film Golden Lion Award.In 2024,she devoted herself fully to the field of artistic painting,continuously garnering attention from awards and setting sales records in both public and private domains.For Hoho Kuo,compared to the oil painting medium that she has been familiar with since childhood,she prefers the versatility and ease of acrylic materials, which allow for both thick application and glazing. :“This enables me to create clear edges and explore both internal and external spaces to express rich emotions”.Her learning and project experience in film and theater have given her a more thorough insight into the exploration and handling of space, light and shadow, and characters' inner worlds.: “leading a filming team and integrating elements on a canvas are equally rich and detail-filled experiences”.
