There was a time when painting was everything. It was only for a short while. I was floating through my own space as if possessed, repeatedly erasing and adding. Regardless of the reasoning and results I pursued, it was like the storm and stress I first encountered back then. It was a journey of awakening to the essence of the subject and opening my eyes to newness. Now, decades later. Whenever I come across a painting, I remember the 'erasing and adding' from back then and try to face the 'essence of the work'. From a contemporary artist’s perspective, this reflection captures the essence of artistic passion and experimental spirit. The storm-like intensity of the moment and the repetitive process of "erasing and adding" embody the relentless exploration and creation that contemporary art seeks.
