Self-made artist, very instinctive, a bit naive, very expressive, this artist falls most generally under the figurative expressionnist category. From his native province of Quebec in Canada, Guillaume Grenier-Fontaine has taken painting and drawing here and there and his work declines in portraits, landscapes, abstracts and this painter has a sweet spot for « the secret of Fatima », which third part of the secret includes Canada, where the three Fatima children have seen virgin Mary appear to them whispering : « poir Canada… » with apocaliptic visions of Montreal, a town with chaos and buildings, but well known for being built around a hill with a christian cross and the statue of an angel at its bottom. Guillaume Grenier-Fontaine also likes to depict the Holy Shrine of Christ in multiple versions as he maintains having seen a vision in 1999 of Christ himself , imploring « don’t worry, everything will be fine ». Guillaume Grenier-Fontaine is a true witness of his Time and depicts what surrounds his universe in a unique touch and perspective.
