Isabella of Portugal was born to Manuel I of Portugal and Maria of Aragon. Her royal lineage was impressive, as her father was the King of Portugal and her mother was the daughter of Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile, renowned for their role in the completion of the Reconquista and the unification of Spain. This lineage would play a crucial role in Isabella's life and destiny.
Isabella's early years were marked by a comprehensive education befitting her royal status. She received instruction in subjects such as literature, history, languages, and courtly etiquette.
