Expressive code between gesture and signs - Nicoletta Magnoni A very big panel that represent the entrance of the Ancient Palace of the Chinese Emperor introduce ourselves in the very far world of Gabriella Porpora that exibit in the Gallery “ L’ Ariete” . A world a little mysterious, a little sacralised, that acquire significations to become a Universe of symbols and rituals! Her art works in which Chinese pictograms take shape many pages of a travel notebook, giving voice to pictorial form and exotic suggestions. All these forms, colours , lights , brush strokes, seen and work out again , come from the very heart of China, re-worked with the eyes of a soul interpenetrated in this culture. Work tools such as original watercolours, rice paper, Chinese brushes and subjects evoke a expressive code that turn around the gesture and signs: from Chinese ideograms , from the Mouth of the word, from the double happiness knot, to the feminine language that track the stages of the emancipation of the woman. A sense of brightness and transparency prevails with the use of the perspex crossed by chromatic tones and cultural moods.
