Frederic Payet
Born on the French Island of Madagascar and reared in Paris, Frederic Payet moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1989 to work as a restorer of antique paintings. While engaged in restorative work, Frederic became acquainted with all the major schools of painting, and, inspired by the works of both European and American masters, he began to experiment with a variety of painting techniques. Very soon, Frederic, who is self-taught, developed his own unique style, applying both oils and acrylics with a pallet knife.
Over the past 10 years, Frederic, whose work has been recognized in numerous exhibitions in Paris, Reunion Island (administered by France), Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Santa Fe, Washington, D.C., Miami, and Palm Beach, has emerged as one of Atlanta's premiere artists. Galleries and art houses in Denver, New Orleans, Vail, Dallas, Memphis, and Beaver Creek, Colorado have also featured exhibitions of his work.
