The painting "Schizosexual. Lepus. Lupus" was created in 2008 by the talented surrealist artist Dmitry Vorsin on ink-tinted tea cardboard and coated with varnish. Lepus (Hare in Latin) and Lupus (Wolf).

The dictum of Venantius Fortunata, one of the most famous Latin poets and church writers of the Merovingian era, is known: “Homo homini lepus est. Lepus, non lupus; nam magis terreri quam terrere humanum est ”(Man is a hare to man. A hare, not a wolf; for it is more common for a man to experience fear than to inspire him). Also in the Southern Hemisphere, the constellations Hare (Lepus) and Wolf (Lupus) are visible.

Dmitry Vorsin creates surreal worlds inhabited by mystical erotic characters. Drawing inspiration from Salvador Dali, his images are often elongated and with decapitated limbs.

The self-taught Vorsin works in the sophisticated ink graphics technique. He creates pictures with dots on cardboard soaked in tea. A countless number of dots weaves distorted figures, inspired not only by Dali, but also by paintings of the Renaissance.

Dmitry Vorsin’s work was included in 2011 in the book “Metamorphosis: Volume 2: 50 of the best contemporary surrealist artists, science fiction writers and visionaries”, along with modern masters of surrealism such as Sean Barber, Travis Louis, Paul Booth and HR Giger.

In Vorsin's paintings, one can discern topics that have occupied the history of Western art for many centuries: the search for an idealized form; the connection between science and religion; difficult game between the artist, the subject and the viewer.

Unfortunately, Dmitry Vorsin stopped writing. All of his paintings have long been in private collections and galleries in the USA, Germany, Spain, and Russia.

Vorsin works for true and deep connoisseurs of contemporary art!
