In the recent decades, all about lifestyle, clothing and fashion or the way of living have acquired a new meaning and a new kind of appearance for most of us. The classic or natural look as well as many other concepts were somehow converted, totally or partially, into new trends and adapted to new developments.
Thus, the industrial style pervaded Art in all its fields and all its forms of expression.
More or less, every object made by man and used by each one of us is a result of an industrial design concept.
This style is characterized by simplicity: a manly style, linked to everything related to industry and manufacturing, apparently quite cold and that suits especially the energetic and honest people. It is often combined with a minimalist style associated with the use of a small number of elements.
The friend of our magazine, the Russian painter Dariya Afanaseva, has felt and managed to render – with maximum accuracy – these new trends in the world of Visual Arts, in her fine artwork entitled “Industrial”.
This piece of art is dedicated to a period in the artist’s life when she was living near an old factory whose image had a great emotional impact on her, in a special way.
Related to what I said earlier, my assumption is that the artist herself fits into this style which in this case is more than just a style in painting … it’s really a lifestyle: simplicity, minimalism, functionality and nonconformity.
