"Bitumen pressed by an interminable wave masked and singing, a hullabaloo of colors drained by fifres, drums and coppers, here is the Carnival of Dunkirk, the transitory caricature of our lives. It was necessary to dare to idealize the grotesque one; Corine Pagny made it, a barbed wire as a brush to scratch us, us to play in load, such one of its carnavaleux in full rejoicing. Its characters sharp, sudden, are unchained, whirling and are dishevelled, tragically parodic: here is thus an album of family, a flight of portrait-load, mirrors which reflect what we let us be: irremediable sanctimonious hypocrites perpetuating the human saraband. "Grimons" us our pouts, which the cake-walk begins!"
