Finding faces in the marks I put on paper has been a source of endless satisfaction for me. Like a nervous habit, I would draw pictures as obsessively and regularly as people check their phones. I’d do it on busses, in social situations and when I was alone. The most interesting thing anyone has ever said about these drawings came from a 7 years old. After much contemplation, she turned to me and said "It looks like you just scribbled on her face". She was alluding to the idea that if took the pen marks off the paper, there would be a real face beneath it. Kids are profound!

Biografia
Fleur Elise Noble è un'artista australiana contemporanea pluripremiata. Lavora con i mezzi di disegno, pittura, scultura, marionette, costumi, scenografie, animazione, film, mapping di proiezione, performance e danza per creare opere d'arte, film d'animazione e performance visive.
Fleur ha un background in arti visive, teatro fisico e arti di comunità. Ha studiato con borse di studio complete presso scuole d'arte di Adelaide (Adelaide Central School of Art) e New York (New York Studio School). Nel 2008 è stata stagista in regia con Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre, dopo di che ha continuato a esibirsi in numerose produzioni di danza / teatro fisico. Fleur ha ricevuto numerose borse di studio e premi per il suo lavoro.
Il lavoro più famoso di Fleur fino ad oggi è la sua performance di teatro visivo '2-Dimensional Life of Her', un'opera fatta di disegno, animazione, pupazzi, proiezione e carta, che esplorava le idee sull'atto della creazione. 2-D Life of Her è stato invitato ad esibirsi in oltre 40 luoghi e festival in tutto il mondo, tra cui; Il festival London Mime 2012 al The Barbican, l'Under The Radar Festival 2013 al Public Theatre di New York, così come a Los Angeles, Brasile, Iran, Corea del Sud e ampiamente in tutta Europa, Australia e Nuova Zelanda. Nel 2011 2D Life of Her è stata selezionata per rappresentare l'Australia al World Congress of Theatre for Young People in Danimarca e Svezia, e nel 2013 ha ricevuto un prestigioso Bessie (New York Dance and Theatre Award) per il miglior Visual Design.
ROOMAN è la seconda grande produzione di Fleur e, come la sua prima, la storia e il materiale fisico che usa per raccontarla sono stati sviluppati e perfezionati in circa 7 anni. ROOMAN è un ricco arazzo di marionette, proiezione, disegno, danza e installazione sonora. Come un ologramma a bassa tecnologia o un libro pop-up di carta ad alta fedeltà, ROOMAN porta il pubblico in un viaggio all'interno di mondi di universi animati mentre si dispiegano su un gigantesco set di carta tridimensionale. ROOMAN ha debuttato all'ARTS HOUSE di Melbourne nel 2017 prima di andare in tournée in Slovenia, Paesi Bassi e Nuova Zelanda.
Dal 2012 Fleur ha anche lavorato come leader di workshop e produttore di media nei Digital Storytelling Workshops della SharingStories Foundation, facilitando progetti di disegno, animazione, realizzazione di film e proiezione con anziani e giovani in remote comunità indigene in tutta l'Australia.

Fleur ha creato migliaia di disegni, pupazzi e sculture nel processo di realizzazione di questi spettacoli. Durante e tra un tour e l'altro, ha continuato a disegnare, dipingere e scolpire. Mentre è ancora in viaggio con le sue esibizioni, la sua attuale attenzione è rivolta al collegamento con i giovani e all'esplorazione di come le pratiche creative possono avere un effetto positivo sui problemi di salute mentale.

Based on interviews with people aged between 8-102, Creation Creation is a documentary/comedy about life’s biggest mysteries.
How did we get here? How did the world begin? Are aliens real?
Two fearless creators and performers will step onto the stage and attempt to unravel the mysteries of the universe improvising with whatever tools they have at their disposal alongside a soundtrack created from 35 hours of recorded interviews and a vivid, highly original soundscape. Blankets become forts, cardboard boxes become battleships and ping pong balls become planets in this hilarious explosion of art, sculpture, physical theatre and puppetry.
A daring and audacious journey to the very edge of the universe and back again. It’s a wild theatrical experiment for the curious among us.
Some of the big questions tackled during this show, raised and then answered by the general public children and adults we interviewed, include; ‘how did the world begin?’, ’is there other life in the universe?’, ‘how are babies made?’, ‘what does dying feel like?’, and ‘what will life on earth be like in 1,000 years?’. These questions and answers are played out by our performers in gentle, moving and fun ways. Viewer discretion is advised, viewer curiosity is recommended.

A note for audiences
As part of developing Creation Creation, over 50 people were asked ‘what big mystery would you like an answer to?’, with answers sourced from both experts and the general public. The performance tackles some big questions, including ‘how did the world begin?’, ‘is there other life in the universe?’, ‘how are babies made?’, ‘what does dying feel like?’, and ‘what will life on earth be like in 1000 years?’. Each question and answer is played out by the performers in a gentle, moving and fun way. Viewer discretion is advised, viewer curiosity is recommended.

The Pocket Sanctuary: Arts, Health and Food Farm is a magical wonderland tucked away in Forest Range, a beautiful pocket of the Adelaide Hills (in South Australia). It is a place for creativity and rejuvenation. When we first visited this 27 acre property, we fell in love. With the luscious valley of tree ferns and weeping willows. The abundant orchard and veggie garden (bright green in the middle of summer). The majestic spring fed lake surrounded by native bush and adorned in lotus flowers. And the mountain of yellow leaves and spectacular views. So many pockets of splendour! It's a place for dreaming, and for creation. We will be holding many events, workshops, artists residencies and gatherings over the coming years. We look forward to sharing this space with you ❤️
Who are The People in The Pocket? Incase you were wondering... We are a family of Professional 2 year olds. Daniel Fels climbs trees for a living (he's an arborist). He is also a geologist, but he's more of a monkey than a miner. He loves his work and also loves to dance. Daniel met Fleur on a dance floor. Fleur Elise Noble is a drawer, painter, sculptor, puppet-maker, performer, animator and maker of visual theatre performances. She also facilitates creative workshops for young people. The third person in The Pocket, is Mahlia- Fleur and Daniel's most treasured creation. She too loves dancing, climbing trees and painting pictures.

ROOMAN is a new visual-performance by Fleur Elise Noble, a rich tapestry of puppetry, projection, drawing, dance and sound installation. ROOMAN is a story of romance, fantasy and the pursuit of happiness. A story that we can all, in some way, relate to. A girl meets a kangaroo man in her dreams and falls in love. Obsessed by his reality, and the idea of becoming a part of it, she takes desperate measures to spend more time with him. Her obsession leads her into the darkest depths of the human psyche.
