The art group Artisthood is Davao City's latest major achiever in the field of the visual arts. Its prolific members have conducted six group exhibitions since it was founded in 2002. Five of its founding members have either won prizes or gained recognition in the international art competitions they had joined in within a span of three years: an indication that their art draws significant appreciation from international art juries.


To expand our art horizons, we, Artisthood members, are going on an Exposure Trip early next year to the world’s modern art Mecca, New York. The Philippine Center–NY management board has found our project – after a screening process – worthy of support and has scheduled Artisthood for a group show at the Philcenter on April 10-21, 2006 (please call Philcenter (212) 575-4774 for verification).

To meet our needs for round-trip air fare and board and lodging during the project period, we are pre-selling some of our major artworks. Artisthood founding members and international art awardees Ega Carreon and Ben Banez, both Dabawenyos, are now in New York to arrange this matter for us.
