Albert Cruells, nacido en 1947 en España, es un artista contemporáneo cuya vida temprana estuvo marcada por el mundo natural y la influencia creativa de su familia (su padre era profesor de piano y su madre, escritora). Su trayectoria artística comenzó inusualmente temprana, con su primera exposición celebrada a los siete años en la carnicería de su abuelo.
A los dieciocho años, Cruells se trasladó a Barcelona para estudiar Arquitectura y sumergirse en la escena artística moderna de la ciudad. También encontró inspiración en Cadaqués, donde exhibió con frecuencia su obra en constante evolución. Su arte obtuvo reconocimiento internacional, lo que llevó a la publicación de su primer libro.
La Fundación Vila Casas ha comisariado su obra y la Fundación Antonio Saura le ha homenajeado con una exposición antológica y un completo libro recopilatorio de su trayectoria. A pesar de su éxito, Cruells sigue profundamente conectado a sus raíces y sigue trabajando con la misma pasión y dedicación que cuando era niño con un pincel.
