Ken Lerner es un apasionado artista fotográfico, nacido en una familia de fotógrafos de renombre. Comenzó a tomar fotos a los 6 años con una cámara que le regaló su padre. Pero no le interesaba simplemente reproducir momentos de la vida real. Su visión era más subjetiva y buscaba proyectar la realidad interna de ese momento.
Al principio de su carrera, creaba casi exclusivamente imágenes con múltiples exposiciones. Esto les daba una estructura compleja y representaba una visión subjetiva del mundo. En la década de 2010, tras trabajar en ventas de productos financieros, regresó a la fotografía, produciendo únicamente imágenes de una sola exposición. Aunque eran menos complejas estructuralmente, seguían representando una visión subjetiva del mundo, siendo casi totalmente abstractas. Ken trabaja extensamente con superficies reflectantes como el agua, el vidrio y el metal.
Amante de la belleza de la naturaleza, Ken Lerner pinta y fotografía numerosos paisajes terrestres y marinos. Le interesa presentar diferentes posibilidades de representación de la naturaleza y a menudo produce numerosas variaciones de una imagen con diferentes colores, matices, contrastes y saturaciones.
