Erwin Esquivel C nació en 1958 en Cereté, un pequeño pueblo en la costa caribeña de Colombia. A los 7 años, tras ganar un concurso de pintura, descubrió su pasión por la pintura y se volvió autodidacta. A los 18 años, Erwin se mudó a Bogotá para estudiar y luego obtuvo su título en Publicidad en la Universidad de Bogotá. A pesar de sus estudios, no olvidó su pasión por la pintura y siguió perfeccionando su técnica.
Durante muchos años, el tema principal de Erwin Esquivel fue el desnudo femenino, tema que exploró con notable profundidad. Sus obras han sido expuestas en Bogotá, Washington y Miami, obteniendo notable éxito. Hoy su obra se centra principalmente en el mundo del color, buscando un diálogo armónico entre dibujo, línea, color y luz. Utiliza una variedad de medios, que incluyen acrílico sobre lino, pastel y tiza sobre papel, tinta sobre papel y óleo sobre lienzo.
Su estilo, influenciado por el fauvismo y caracterizado por colores policromáticos, sigue siendo figurativo mientras explora nuevas dimensiones de luz y color. Erwin Esquivel C actualmente vive y trabaja en Francia, donde continúa desarrollando su arte, cautivando al público con sus vibrantes y expresivas obras.
