My name is Meltem Söylemez
I am both an art educator and an artist.
I am a university professor.
I work on abstract and imaginative forms on canvas and paper in my art production process.I have been using linoleum for the past few years.
This material is a known material
but I use this material with a different discipline.
I use it more as a pictorial material than the rules of linoleum.
I transformed the material myself. Linol is just a technical tool. linol is helping me to build a structural pattern on the surface of paper and canvas.
Helping me to come up with the formal depth on the surface I want to create. In this sense, I use the material in the way I perceive it.
For me, material is a tool that needs to be transformed.
Works that are described as prints are unique works.
Printing work is the only art work.
I think I brought a new perception to the printing technique
