What brought you close to art and to becoming an artist? (Events, feelings, experiences ......)
I always liked to fantasize when I was little and I comforted myself with crayons. My grandfather saw something different in my drawings from other children's drawings and he thought I had a talent for drawing, and from that moment on I took private drawing lessons.
During my high school years, I read a lot of young adult novels and comics. As my interest in art developed, I wasn't sure if I wanted to make it a career. I had a strong artistic interest in photography and drawing. I went on to study at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia and received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from RMIT University in 2010, after which I focused on creative art.
What are the techniques and themes you have experimented with so far in your artistic journey?
I focus all my attention on painting, concentrating on details in my work, color is also important to me, but perhaps the most important thing is my view of beauty through the brush strokes. For me, there are two themes that I always like to describe: the theme of man and nature, and the problem of man and the existence of society.
What are the 3 aspects that set you apart from other artists that make your work unique?
My series of Chinese-style black and white abstract paintings focus on brushstroke details. I think my abstract work is hard to confuse with other artists' work; it has its own character. It may also have to do with my choice of subject matter and the way I paint in the paintings - in some places it looks like a large graphic work with a lot of detail. Detail, Chinese elements and realism are combined.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
I get my inspiration from movies, comics, novels and music that I particularly like. I talk to friends on Facebook or Instagram about personal experiences, and between conversations, some sort of idea for a new painting always comes to my mind.
What is the intention of your art? What visions, feelings or sensations do you want to evoke in the viewer?
My art is deeply rooted in the perception of contemporary life, the memories I want to convey in the viewer, the real sense of social identity and emotional communication.
