What made you decide to become an artist? What is your background ?

Tell you that I was born in the last century, that I like chocolate ice cream or that I weigh 20 pounds (misses an X): nobody cares. I started Photography in my first communion by receiving a Polaroid camera, I then continued with the family box and then bought my first camera when I was 16 years old. self-taught, I learned the technique through magazines and then simply with the internet. Today I am Photographer Author since 2010

What are the 3 things that make you different from other artists?

1) I consider myself to be a Swiss Army Knife in Photography, I am not specialized in 1 photographic theme: I can take photos of Thunderstorm Hunts, of the animal keeper, of the studio: I do whatever I want to do and I learn from my mistakes as I go.
2) the material does not count for me it is only a tool: only my eye counts
3) I do what I want first: not what others want me to do

Where does your inspiration come from?

From life itself, from our daily life and from everywhere, TV, news, internet, desire for the moment, the work of other artists

Tell us about the conception of your works, do you have a long preparatory work or is it quite spontaneous?

for some series yes ... it turns in my head, find a subject, the direction it should take, find certain objects that I would like to put in situation, I imagine the photo then draw it on a corner of the table for example for my last series "Shakespeare .... the Resurrection" I had the idea to put in images quotes from William Shakespeare with the character of the Alien Saga. Read the quotes, understand them, get the idea of the image as well as that realization is not done in 5 minutes without forgetting the manufacture of certain objects the series was made from a figurine and everything to the objective Macro photo ... I took a little year to take 9 images, it was pure delirium ...

What do you want to show through your work?

I would not use the word "show", I am more in the "sharing" and it all depends on the public to which I am addressing I can take animal pictures, wasteland, storm hunting or series such as this one quoted just before as I like to say: "you may have the latest equipment, if you do not know how to show, to make feel, the emotions, the feelings: then you will not take a beautiful picture" that day j understood ......

In your work do you use techniques or materials that are out of the ordinary?

obligatory. Since I try to make several themes in photo, I try several processes or tools which can be useful to me for a different theme. I am in perpetual search to bring out the image that I want to explain them to you would be far too long

Do you have a favorite format? Why ?
Absolutely not, I adapt my formats according to the theme of the image: a landscape photo will look much better in a large format than in a small one. then for sales I adapt the format according to the customer's request

What difficulties do you encounter in your work?

Ouille ..... it's complicated to explain: technical side: no difficulty on the other hand the "little guy" in my head who tells me to do this or that series and how to do it is quite "directive" we will say ..... this is the only difficulty I encounter: the conflict with this "little guy" when we don't agree.

How do you work? At home, in a shared workshop, in your own workshop?
I work wherever I need to be it can be in my garage (transform into Lab for example for the series "H2O") in my office at home (for the series "Shakespeare ...") outside for Animal photos or thunderstorm hunting.
11955428-4final.jpeg Does the work of an artist take you to travel a lot?

not physically but mentally the world of photography is so vast, there is so much that we can do that I navigate this whole universe ... I travel in my own way

What was the best moment of your career?

Never look behind either: the best moments are those that we will live .... but I remember a first great recognition of my work in 2014 when I was selected to exhibit at the Confrontations Gessiennes with the foundation Caron, Eric Bouvet, Reporters Without Borders

How do you see your work in ten years?

no idea: maybe a different style, a different way of doing things, but always with the same desire to share my work

What are you currently working on? Are you planning an exhibition soon?

I work on a lot of photographic projects at the same time, it allows me not to take my head: as soon as the inspiration does not come from one side, it comes from the other .... side exhibition I exhibit currently in an Art gallery in Besançon, I have an exhibition to come in March 2022 in Lyon

If you could have created a masterpiece in art history, which one would you choose? Why ?
a photo of a Friend Photographer: MARC PAYGNARD: "the Balayeur": this image is for me magical because made in my region, by a VERY great photographer Humanist, sincere and very human like what a successful image is a simple photo

If you could invite a famous artist for dinner (dead or alive), which one would you choose? Why ?

Gérard VANDYSTADT: I really like his way of seeing sports photography: he inspired me
