On April 28, 2025, the Palais de Tokyo hosted the Art Eco-Design Prize award ceremony, revealing the 12 winning artists of this third edition. Organized by the Art of Change 21 association, founded by Alice Audouin, in partnership with the Palais de Tokyo, this prize aims to support contemporary artists in their ecological transition and the reduction of their environmental impact.
Twelve committed artists rewarded
The winners of this 2025 edition include Dana-Fiona Armour, Younès Ben Slimane, Tiphaine Calmettes, the duo Maëva and Arnaud Grapain, Alice Guittard, Chloé Jeanne, Mehdi-Georges Lahlou, Gohar Martirosyan, Lou Motin, Lionel Sabatté, Ugo Schiavi, and Hugo Servanin. This selection reflects the diversity of backgrounds, origins, and artistic approaches, all united by a shared commitment to more environmentally friendly creation.
Tailor-made support for more sustainable art
Each winner will receive three days of personalized support at the Palais de Tokyo. This program, led by experts in the environment, carbon, and eco-design specializing in art, aims to provide artists with concrete tools to further integrate ecological issues into their practice. Artists already engaged in these issues will also participate to share their experiences. At the end of this support, each artist will receive a €1,000 grant.
Otobong Nkanga, inspiring patron of the 2025 edition
The 2025 edition is sponsored by artist Otobong Nkanga, a renowned figure for her environmental commitment to contemporary art. In addition to serving on the jury, she will accompany the winners throughout their environmental transformation journey, providing her expertise and support.
Growing interest in eco-design
The Art Eco-Design Prize is enjoying growing success: applications have increased from 278 in 2023 to 534 in 2025, illustrating the growing interest of contemporary artists in environmental issues. This momentum confirms the importance of such initiatives in encouraging art to play an active role in the ecological transition.
