The French head of state and his wife discovered the masterpieces of the Dutch master.

The Vermeer masterpiece at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam is sold out until June 4 and some tickets are going for more than $2,000 on eBay. More and more people want to see 28 works by the Dutch Old Master, especially after hearing great things about them. But if you're the President of France, you can see the show. This week, Emmanuel Macron, his wife Brigitte, and the Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte went to the Vermeer feast. King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and his wife Queen Maximaa were also there.

Macron was seen deep in talk with Taco Dibbits, the head of the Rijksmuseum. Dibbits seemed to be telling Macron about Vermeer's famous painting The Milkmaid. Girl with a Flute (1670) was also a painting that Emmanuel and Brigitte liked. They had a sweet moment in front of the painting, which was downgraded earlier this year because of new research. Macron also took time to look at a piece of art on loan from Paris. "It's great that The Lacemaker is on display at the Vermeer show. We thank the Louvre and the French government for this kind loan," the Rijksmuseum wrote.
