This painting was inspired from a flower called Veronica Spicata which I have seen during a holiday in France. I was so inspired by the intense purple colour of the flower and its interesting shape. This painting was done in the alla prima technique and the brushstrokes add texture and interest in the painting. This painting is somewhat impressionistic in its style. The out of focus background and lack of detail in it help to bring the viewer into the focal point of the painting which is the beauty of the flower itself.

Born on the 31st August, 1981 and is from Qormi, Malta.   Art is her passion! She is fascinated by colours and the harmony they bring into a composition.  

Her formal art tuition started in 2007 at the Malta Society of Arts, after which she started attending the Malta School of Arts, in 2008. She successfully completed the Foundation programme, and then proceeded with the course of Diploma in Fine Arts (2010 – 2014).  She completed this course successfully and has been awarded with a Diploma in Fine Arts in Painting in June 2015. She continues to further her skills and techniques by taking regular physical and online courses.

Oil is her favourite medium, however she loves  painting with acrylic, watercolours and also with soft pastels.  She derives inspiration mostly from nature.  Whilst painting in her studio she prefers to work with some inspiring musical pieces by various artists namely Ludovico Einaudi which is her favourite, but also Andrea Vanzo and Hans Zimmer.  This creates the perfect ambience as she shuts off from the outer world and immerses herself into the magical world of art.
