"Gallo Perfecto" is a digital artwork created in 2012, inspired by the Italian symbol of good luck, the rooster, as well as the themes of love, the vibrant spirit of Key West, and Tom Robbins' novel "Still Life with Woodpecker." This piece is a digital collage on canvas, featuring a painted rooster that appears blurred and subdued, allowing the true aesthetic to emerge through its conceptual depth.

The focal point of "Gallo Perfecto" lies in the meticulously integrated graphic QR codes, within the collage. These QR codes serve as portals, inviting viewers to interact and engage with the artwork on a deeper level. By scanning the codes, viewers are transported into another dimension where text interactions unfold, seamlessly blending the digital and physical realms.

The interplay between the blurred rooster and the dynamic QR codes challenges traditional perceptions of focus and attention, encouraging viewers to explore the hidden layers of meaning and connection within the piece. "Gallo Perfecto" encapsulates the essence of love, luck, and the magical convergence of reality and imagination, inviting an immersive and transformative experience and it questions the purpose of the moon.

Doreen Holley is a visionary artist whose journey through the realms of experimental art has been shaped by a profound exploration of the digital medium. Hailing from Key West, Holley's artistic odyssey began with formal training at Parson's School of Design, followed by the acquisition of a BFA from Rutgers Mason Gross School of Art.

Influenced by the avant-garde ethos of the Fluxus movement, Holley found resonance in the concept-driven approach to art, where the aesthetic essence transcends mere physical form. Her background in printmaking provided a solid foundation, but it was the advent of computer graphics in the 1980s that ignited her fascination with the pure digital as a medium. For Holley, the digital realm isn't just a canvas—it's a sacred space where art resides

Holley's art exists in more than one dimension simultaneously, reflecting her belief that creation and manifestation are fluid processes that traverse both the digital and physical realms. She begins in the digital world, where she explores and refines her concepts, allowing the limitless possibilities of the medium to shape her vision. This digital inception is not confined to a screen but is brought to life in the physical world, where tangible expressions of her art trigger a reciprocal relationship with their digital origins. The physical elements of her work often contain embedded digital triggers, such as QR codes or augmented reality components, that invite viewers to engage with the art on multiple levels. Conversely, the digital representations can activate physical responses, creating an interconnected experience where each dimension enhances and informs the other. Holley's practice exemplifies a seamless integration of digital and physical spaces, where the boundaries between the two are fluid, and the full aesthetic experience is realized through their interplay

Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of artistic luminaries, including Marcel Duchamp, Jonathan Borofsky (notably his iconic "Man In Space"), and guided by the philosophical musings of Tom Robbins and Robert Lanza, Holley's work embodies a fusion of visionary ideas and groundbreaking techniques.

Holley's 1993 thesis exhibition sparked profound inquiries into the nature of reality and the essence of art itself. "What defines reality and what constitutes ARTIs it defined by the Artist or the curator?" this thought-provoking exploration challenged conventional notions and invited viewers to question the very fabric of perception.

Holley is at the forefront of immersive artistic experiences, pushing the boundaries of traditional art forms and exploring new dimensions of creativity and is currently a Meta partner developing XR/AR/VR

Holley's XRtistry reflects a synthesis of her diverse life experiences, blending philosophical inquiry with technical innovation to push the boundaries of artistic expression.
