Dimitar Cholakov

Born on 25.07.1954 in the city of Popovo. 1981 – Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Department of Painting, first-class of prof. Svetlin Roussev.

GROUP EXHIBITIONS: Vienna, Prague, Bratislava, Wuppertal, Amsterdam, Cairo, Moscow, Bucharest, Potsdam, Franca Villa al Mare, Madrid, Roma, Caracas, Thessaloniki, Constanta… 

AWARDS: 1988 – The Michetti International Award of Painting; 1989 - Award of the Union of Bulgarian Artists for painting; Award at the “The Man and the Sea”; 1993 - Award “Kyustendilska Prolet “(Spring in Kyustendil); 1994- Awarded at the “Olympian Ideas” competition; 2002 – Awarded at the National Exhibition of teachers, V. Tarnovo, 2008 – Award “Allianz” for painting; 2013 – Award “Ludogorie” for painting.  

Cholakov’s works are in the possession of public and private collections in Bulgaria and all over Europe. The artist works in the field of oil painting and watercolors.
