This painting was created with the idea of suffragettes, who tried to elevate women to a human status in the society of their time. My goal was to depict a woman in a state of insecurity and unfreedom and to show the limitation of all her feelings in this state, including the absence of personal boundaries. This painting was created with the idea of suffragettes, who tried to elevate women to a human status in the society of their time. My goal was to depict a woman in a state of insecurity and unfreedom and to show the limitation of all her feelings in this state, including the absence of personal boundaries. She seems to live a restricted life, only existing bodily for the needs of others.

This painting participated in the all-Ukrainian exhibition "Personal boundaries" in Ternopil, 2023.

!!! The work has additional clean paper border so the full size of paper is 44x32 cm, for more convenient framing. That can be cut off if you will need.

My work here is a single copy of my original handwork. It is made with the world's finest watercolor paints on 100% cotton watercolor CP paper (300 g/m density).

All paintings are very carefully packed in cardboard with layers of bubble wrap to protect them to ensure the painting will reach you safely. Your order may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are applied when the delivery reaches that destination. I have no control over these charges, and I cannot predict their amount.

My name is Diana Rode and I'm an artist from Ukraine. I've been painting all my life, in one way or another. At school and university I thought my main strengths were technical, so I studied to be a programmer. [...]

My name is Diana Rode and I'm an artist from Ukraine.

I've been painting all my life, in one way or another... At school and university I thought my main strengths were technical, so I studied to be a programmer. After graduating with a bachelor's degree I got a job as an IT-specialist. But creativity took up more and more time in my life, I started taking various art courses and eventually became a full-time artist.

In my free time, I like walking in the countryside, riding horses and traveling, which gives me a sense of freedom and complete recharge.

As an artist, I explore myself and my surroundings to find out what gives me the impulse to move on, both on ordinary days and in difficult moments. I call such events “the moments of inspiration” and express them though creativity. Through such observation of the world and further reflection on created art, I explore what awakens a strong desire to live and love, and try to convey this in my next paintings.
