More:
Exciting young French artist Delphine BERNARD,
based in Singapore, discovered art in an unconventional
way in her late twenties, launching an amazing five-year
journey towards the realisation of her gift for abstract
painting.

A journalist with no previous interest in contemporary painting, Delphine one night saw a documentary on the art and philosophy of French abstract master Georges Mathieu. The beauty of Mathieu’s art made her cry, and by the end of the film everything had changed. For the first time art had truly entered Delphine’s life and her world would never be the same.

Leaving her job, she immediately embarked on a three-month journey to India. Through meditation she discovered an ability to see the world in all its beauty… and the ability to express this beauty to others through painting…
Upon returning to France. Delphine isolated herself in a remote village in Brittany. There, she dedicated herself to her work, which began to achieve recognition.

In 2005, she was invited to Singapore by Gallery Art et Domain, which had seen her work on her website. For her first six months in Singapore, she was engaged exclusively by the gallery, for whom she participated in numerous major interior design projects around the region. During this period, her clients included private homes, offices and hotels. Forty of her paintings are permanently displayed at the recently redecorated Mandarin Hotel on Orchard .

Inspired by the ancient Chinese arts, such as calligraphy, an influence that was always present in her paintings, Delphine began to study Mandarin and decided to settle in Singapore.

Now totally independent, she has founded her own company, Tailor Made Art. In addition to her own work, Delphine continues to collaborate on major interior decoration projects. For instance, her work is prominently displayed in the new condominium development The Icon, which displays four oversized canvasses in its lobby.

Athough her work is also displayed in the USA (A Muse Gallery), Delphine has elected to maintain her focus on Asia and to continue to contribute to the development of the Singaporean art scene. Permanently exhibited in gallery Art et Domain, her work was featured in the display Art Singapore 2006, and she was recently exhib...
