International Caribbean Art Fair
On November 1-4, 2007, the First Annual International Caribbean Art Fair, ICAFair TM, will be held at The Puck Building, 295 Lafayette St., in New York City, exclusively featuring artworks created by artists of Caribbean heritage. The Haiti Ministry of Tourism, ARTES, the “Official Art Magazine,” and New York Daily News, which is the “Official Newspaper” sponsor of ICAFair, are among the early sponsors of this unique event. Daily and 3-day passes will be available, with student, senior and group sale discounts. For ticket information contact: , or 301-651-6919.
Marcel Wah, ICAFair’s organizer and gallery owner, is providing more exposure for Caribbean art, “The goal of this exposition is to promote and advance Caribbean Art and Caribbean artists living throughout the world regions. Not only will this be a venue to purchase art not often seen, ICAFair TM provides an opening to inform the public about the authenticity, complexity, and value of Caribbean Art.”
This first-of-its kind exposition will feature the works of new and established Caribbean artists living in or outside of the 34 Caribbean islands. On exhibit will be original paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography and limited editions. Participating artists representing Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, St. Croix, Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados and other countries include Joel Besmar, Sandro De La Rosa, Li Domínguez Fong, Giosvany Echevarría, Agustin de Andino, Luis Gonzalez, Antonio Cortés, Aguedo Alonso, Imna Arroyo, Ted Davis, Javier Gonzalez Gallosa, Reina Ledon, Philippe Dodard, Essud Fungcap, Roberto Stephenson, Patrick Wah, Marcel Wah, James Cesar Wah, Amos Ferguson, Boscoe Holder, Belkis Ayon, Marie-Denise Douyon, Léonel Jules, Jose Acosta, Alicia de la Campa, Isolina Limonta, Yolanda Velazquez, Vicente Dopico Lerner, Lucia Mendez, Franck Louissaint, Fritz Millevoix, Dorisa Camps, Hector Lemagne, and many others.
A lecture and workshop series organized by the Haitian Art Education and Appraisal Society (HAEAS), Inc. and guided art tours by art experts are an important part of the 4-day fair.

The opening Preview Night Benefit and Collector’s Reception on November 1st will benefit El Museo del Barrio, the only museum in New York City that represents the diversity of art and culture in the Caribbean and Latin America. Along with requisite cocktails, the Benefit’s $125 admission price includes a show catalogue, a signed print by a participating artist, and one readmission.
Art collectors and gallery owners as well as museum curators, corporate art buyers, interior designers, art appraisers, art critics, and others with an interest in fine art culture will have the opportunity at ICAFair TM to view the best Caribbean artworks that galleries and artists have to offer.
Need a break from perusing the works of the many individual artists and those represented in the exhibiting galleries? Two lounge areas will be available within the ICAFair TM show floor to sit down, talk art, and eat authentic Caribbean cuisine.
Currently, there are no other producers of a high-quality fine art fair focused exclusively on the Caribbean art market. Artists, galleries and the general art buying public will be among the art enthusiasts that will attend.
ICAFair TM is organized by Studio Wah Exhibitions, LLC, whose main business is producing annual fine art exhibits featuring Caribbean art that will be held at various venues in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia..
