I easily get carried away exploring figurative forms. The female body is so gracious, so captivating. There are so many poses and positions. This piece utilizes sheer minimalism and an overall cubist design. The sculpture looks that much more consolidated, in concrete. I easily get carried away exploring figurative forms. The female body is so gracious, so captivating. There are so many poses and positions. This piece utilizes sheer minimalism and an overall cubist design. The sculpture looks that much more consolidated, in concrete. This work was created through a method of sculpture I have developed over the years. Sculptures created in concrete are made using a combination of layering and carving; addition and subtraction. Concrete is added gradually to a rigid frame, as it cures more layers are then added or removed as the form develops. A process requiring time and focus, often taking weeks or months to complete a single piece. The final result offers a unique work with a surface layer comprising of multiple layers meshed and intertwined together.
