proclame la belle citadelle oubliée,
et, convoquant les flots qui vont user la pierre,
conquérante, elle cingle vers l’inconnu, plus robuste que l’ancre enracinée,
plus légère qu’un désir à venir et radieux.

The Lady of the Sea
“Enough of the pointed roofs and stiff towers,
tonight I shall put on my finest lady’s gown”
proclaims the beautiful forgotten citadel,
and, summoning the waters that will wear
the stone away,
dominant, she strikes out for the unknown,
stronger than the deep-buried anchor,
lighter than a radiant future desire.

La dama del mar
“Se acabo con los techos puntiagudos y las rígidas torres,
esta noche me adorno con vestido de dama”
proclama la bella ciudadela olvidada,
y, convocando a las olas que van a usar la piedra,
conquistadora, ella cingla hacia lo desconocido,
más robusta que el ancla enraizada,
más ligera que un deseo porvenir y radiante.
